You are doing a great job! Look at your loss this week! Super duper!! I still haven't managed to maintain any exercise program but I am still losing...staying under my points almost everyday...the weekends are usually my weak spots but apparently it isn't hurting me too badly! lol

Keep it up! I am looking to losemy 14 pounds by November 14th! We leave to go to Alabama that day and I can't wait to go back after two years and be sooo skinny!! lol I haven't been 135 since I went down there in 2002!! Every year after I had gotten up to 160 or more!

Thanks for the motivation Lynn! It truly helps! I know I am not on here much but when I come back and see you are still rooting for me it makes my week better!

Thank you for the comment on my page. Im working out 6 days a week at the gym alternating weights and cardio. Keeping a food journal is one of the biggest things for me. It keeps me in check. Keep up your great efforts!! 2 pounds to go.. wow I cant wait to see that on my Traineo page.

This morning, I didn't get up in time to walk, so I put it off until after work. I have a class tonight I'm going to try to fit in a quick workout after that . . . we'll see.

I feel like I'm finally back in the frame of mind to exercise daily. I am getting settled in my new job and I'm getting to bed earlier. I worked out the past few mornings and it felt GREAT!

Thank you for the motivation, April. I REALLY needed it today. This has been the biggest blow off week for me. YUCK. I have not worked out in the morning and I can really tell. I guess I just needed a rest from it. Like you, I haven't been doing that hot since Labor Day. It's time to buckle down. This morning, the rain was falling, and I missed that 15 minute window of opportunity to fall out of the bed and get dressed for the gym before consciousness takes over. If I can do it before I really think about it I'm OK. Once I'm there, I enjoy it so much, but I have a little battle royale upon waking. Once 15 minutes goes by, it's too late to fit the gym in, and I will be late for work if I go. I have to make that 15 minutes the most important focus of my day. Tomorrow, April!

Hi Lynn,

Just thought I would stop in and say wowie! You are doing great! Sorry I haven't been much of a motivator! Life gets sooo busy some weeks! I was doing great until Labor Day weekend! I did do a lot and didn't eat a lot but did drink a lot so all of those empty calories hurt me! But I am at 152 still so I can't complain too much! I just felt mostly bloated, ugh!

I have only worked out a couple of times since then too, and I am terrible at tracking my workouts! Seeing you get up and working out like you do is motivating! Keep up the good work! Good luck at weigh in Thursday!

I'm slacking on my workout time. It's harvest time where I live and we went to the Amish auction and bought 2 bushels of fresh Roma tomatoes, 1/2 peck of sweet and hot peppers, and onions. I've been on my feet for 11 hours making tomato sauce, juice and salsa. Yum. There are not enough hours in the day. I love to cook. Salsa has no points on WW. Sauce is great as long as I watch my portions of pasta. I'm getting there. But I need to work out tomorrow.

I don't see it as 2 hours out of ur day but the most rewarding 2 hours of the day. I wish I could exersize 2 hours a day again. 30 mins makes me a wreck at the moment. I have a 5 week old baby and my body isn't bouncing back from the birth. Do exercise u really enjoy and it will be a pleasure not a chore. Your so close to goal I really admire that. Glad u are enjoying ur workouts. that feeling will grow on u.

Thank you for the good thoughts, Forest. I need them. I gained a pound. But I am determined! I went to the gym this morning -- it's Saturday, and I had time to do the elliptical, weights and go for a swim. 2 hours out of my day, but I really enjoyed it. It felt so good.

I took off 1.6 pounds this week. I'm not completely comfortable with my new routine yet. I am back on a school schedule -- that means getting up at 5:00AM if I want to work out. I am developing a sense of morning. For those who are not morning people, you know what I'm talking about. I need to find things I like about the morning to make it more attractive upon waking. . .let's see. . .
1. It's quiet.
2. I can do what I want without any interruption.
3. No one sees me before I've gotten ready for the day.
4. The look on the dog's face is priceless -- what are you doing up and am I supposed to participate?
5. I can drive the car to the gym in mismatched clothes and workout without worrying that someone will notice -- the morning crowd doesn't make much eye contact.
6. There's time to get the day's news and stay in the loop for hefty current event questions I might encounter that day.

. . . I'll keep thinking of things. This isn't much of a list.

Started a new job this week. My diet was horrible. I need to think about keeping food in the staff room that is good for me. I work in three different buildings over the course of a week, so I can't really put "good for me" food in each building unless it is non perishable. I could start with cereal, I guess. What else? I hate preservatives. I lug enough stuff around from place to place. I really don't want to be lugging food every day. I wonder what other Portable teachers do. . .

I've taken off another pound. I am down 11.2 pounds from my start. I am thrilled about it. But I'm getting discouraged because I didn't meet my goal. I wanted to be 185 by the 25th and it's the 22nd and I'm still 188.8.

Maybe by September 1st I'll be down to 185. . .we will see.

Here's a landmark for me. 10 pounds taken off this summer. I feel great! I tried on my teaching clothes and they are all loose. Yipee!

April,

I am having a really good week! I hope you are too! I exercised like crazy yesterday and took it easy today. Tomorrow morning I'm getting up early to go to the gym.
This is my crazy time of year -- trying to get the kids and myself ready for another round of brain feeding.

Thanks for the tip about the weigh-in. That is motivating for me!

I had a little fun last night with gmap's new pedometer
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/
Once you get the hang of how to work it, it's a nice tool for translating your nightly walk/job into calories burned.

Feeling less bloated today.

I am feeling that way too! lol Bloat Bloat Bloat! We went canoeing this weekend in Missouri and had a total blast, I ate like crazy but was so active that I wound up losing weight so that is always good right! lol

Hope you are having a great week! We are soooo busy I haven't had time to exercise AND my computer is acting up again! Lol Crazy thing! Oh well! I guess I will get back to it as soon as I can log back into my computer!

Little victories 1:
So, I'm with a bunch of boy scouts -- a once a year family camp out -- one of the leaders is making breakfast and tells of how he uses two, yes two, sticks of butter to make eggs for the group. I pass on the eggs.

I just joined the Biggest Loser Club. I missed the first deadline, but I think I can join/weigh-in starting this Wednesday.
I had a blast camping this weekend. We swam, biked and hiked. Lots of opportunity to be active. . . the beach was motivating. . . so was getting into a swimsuit. . . it really curbed my appetite immediately.
I feel better than I did at the beginning of the summer, but I still have a way to go!

Me either! Not sure I have ever done that! lol I went canoeing down the NRO in Missouri this weekend and slept on the ground! We had the most fun! There were about 10 of us and it was a blast! I wish we were closer so that we can do it more often! Hope youhad a great weekend! Did you join the Biggest Loser club in the forums? I think it will be too much fun!

Over the weekend, and this is going to sound a little strange, I carried rocks. That's right. Rocks. It was a good workout and my sister got a very nice little walk in front of her cottage. I'm not sure how to record rock carrying.

You are doing great Lynn! Wow! Ride your bike to the gym and then work out too! I really need to take a lesson from you!!

I am hoping to start the stairs today at work...I work on the 5th floor and come up from the basement so it is 6 flights of stairs, about 30 steps each. The only problem is that they refinished the cement tile in there recently and it smells sooo bad that I can't breathe to get to the 5th floor! ugh!

I am sure that you are definitely gaining muscle and losing fat. As I am sure you know fat takes up more space than muscle but is wayy heavier so it hurts to see the scale not move when you know you are doing everything you can but just stay strong! I am sure that I am going to run into that too now that I have finally gotten off my butt and started moving! lol

I've gained a pound today. I think it is because I am loosing inches (building muscle?). My clothes feel better and I can move more easily. It's not reflecting in my weight, but I am sticking with the program.

I rode my bike 30 min. to the gym and then did a really hard workout on the elliptical. I saw a friend and she asked how I was doing. Noodle legs was all I could think of. . .
I took it easy up hills on the way home. I'm afraid of doing too much, and then not being able to do anything for a while. This morning, I was down 5 pounds. I want today to be a positive contribution to my future. I'm going to plan a menu when I log off.

Well, I'm down about 5.4 pounds. I'm just starting out and I feel great. I've been following WW since July 13th. I guess today I felt like carbs were too hard to resist. I had pancakes in the morning and pizza in the evening. . . went for a short walk before bedtime and I hope that will stave off too much of a gain. Tomorrow is another day.
